JKIA terminal buildings renamed as clock ticks to unveiling of Terminal 1A
Departure and arrival facilities at Nairobi’s JKIA have been renamed just three days before the official opening of a new terminal building.

New names for arrival and departure facilities at Nairobi’s Jomo Kenyatta International Airport with effect from July 1, 2014.
In a statement issued yesterday, the Kenya Airports Authority (KAA) said the new naming order is meant to enhance the customer experience at JKIA as the airport continues to expand.
The naming order runs clockwise from the soon to be opened Terminal 4. The new building is to be known as Terminal 1A and will be officially opened on Friday, July 4, 2014.
The new names are as follows:
Current name: Terminal 4
Role: International Departures/Arrivals (Kenya Airways & Partners)
New name: Terminal 1A
Current Name: Unit 1
Role: International Departures
New name: Terminal 1B
Current Name: Unit 2
Role: International Departures
New name: Terminal 1C
Current name: Unit 3
Role: Domestic Departures & Arrivals
New name: Terminal 1D
Current name: Temporary Arrivals Terminal
Role: International Arrivals
New name: Terminal 1E.
